I was tagged by BookBloke to do the Reader Confessions Tag and so here I am doing it 🙂 Thank you to BookBloke for tagging me! 😀 Now let’s get straight to it!
- Have you ever damaged a book?
Yes. I always used to turn the pages down in books & break the spine. I also used to scribble my full name over the front of every single book I used to own so that no one else could claim them. I don’t do any of that anymore but I do tend to get the pages a bit wrinkly when I read books in the bath & I actually kinda love it.
2. Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?
Oh gosh. I’m gonna hang my head in shame here. I have borrowed books & carried them around in my bag & sliiiiightly bent the cover but I’ve never done it intentionally, I promise!
3. How long does it take you to read a book?
Ummm. Usually a couple of weeks, depending on what kind of book it is. I tend to get through fiction a lot quicker and romance even faster. But it depends on a lot of things. Some books have taken me months, some only days.
4. Books you haven’t finished?
Pamela by Samuel Richardson. I just couldn’t. I’ve also not finished Hester’s Story by Adele Geras, Ant & Dec’s biography & Charlie Chaplin’s Autobiography but I will go back & try again at some point. I do try to finish every book but sometimes, life gets in the way!
5. Hyped/Popular books you didn’t like?
I loved Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn but I didn’t like the ending at all. I also really loved We Were Liars by E. Lockhart but I kinda guessed the ending on that one – well, kinda – so I was a bit disappointed. I shouldn’t have read that there was a twist!
6. Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?
Nope. Everything is on my Goodreads.
7. How many books do you own?
Probably around 250-300.
8. Are you a fast/slow reader?
Again, it depends what I’m reading. Fast when I’m reading fiction, slower when I’m reading non-fiction so that I have time to process. I also tend to go back & read descriptive passages twice because my brain doesn’t always take it all in the first time.
9. Do you like to buddy read?
I haven’t done it but it would be nice 🙂
10. If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?
The Bible because I’m a Christian & I can learn a lot from it but also because there are so many stories in one book!
